UKCSGO November Top 10

by Archive

After a few months without a top 10, partially due to plans for a new website, UKCSGO is now back with it’s top 10 for the month of November. With results from the ESL UK Premiership LAN Finals, epic.SIXTEEN, Gfinity amongst others from the last few months all taken into account, a list of ten teams has been generated once more for your viewing pleasure. Once again we have kept to our in-house panel of writers and pundits, as well as a secret guest.

As per normal, all of our pundits put down their scores, 10 points awarded for the best team they feel and only 1 point for the lowest team they have.  This month we see just 6 people on the panel, meaning that the first placed team can obtain 60pts if all 6 pundits manage to gift the same team the top spot.

10 fish123  4 pts
9  uFrag 10 pts
8  MnM 20 pts
7  nerdRage  25 pts
6  CeX  30 pts
5  United Estonia  39 pts
4  fm-eSports  40 pts
3  CAZ eSports  45 pts
2  Infused  52 pts
1  EZSkins  58 pts

UKCSGO Editor Oliver “orcl” Stubley gave the following comments:

November was a really hard month to produce a clear, concise and well justified top ten. The most notable events to take place within the past few months (as we haven’t kept our top ten up to date) was of course the ESL UK Premiership, followed by epic LAN and also the Gfinity finals. Epic LAN saw Infused take first and Reason Gaming take second. However, Infused were silenced by a reverse sweep by EZSkins at the Gfinity finals, which puts them at the top of my list for the month. EZSkins for me are still the best team in the UK.

A hot point for debate this top 10 is United Estonia, who went ahead to win the finals of the ESL UK Premiership ahead of Team Infused, XENEX and Choke Gaming (now fm-eSports). Their qualification as being a British team is a bit of a grey area, as is the notion that they are even a “team”. Comprised of three players from the Estonian onlineBOTS team, a stellar performance saw them crowned the UK Champions… seems a bit odd. However, they met the requirements for ESL and that’s good enough for me, so they get a really high ranking from me for their performance in October.

Lower down in the table becomes much more of a struggle as the months progress, and as competitions dwindle it becomes increasingly difficult to decide between rosters. A lack of appearances plus an apparent disinterest in the game sees a few teams miss out this month, with the likes of MnM and TLR still hanging on in there.

This months secret player-pundit also said the following:

First things first, I’ve not given any points to United Estonia as in my books they should not be classed as a UK team. So with that out of the way, here are my thoughts about the best teams of the recent months. EZSkins are obviously the best team in the UK, cemented by their win over Infused at Gfinity, however Infused performed admirably and have a good history so for me they still sit in second place. CAZ eSports, though they’ve not played much vs UK teams, qualified for the SLTV StarSeries so they have to earn some points for that.

As for teams like fm and MnM, they’ve been pretty quiet but they still have some merit because of their team members and what they’ve achieved in the past. The old XENEX team didn’t manage to win at the ESL finals and have also made some roster changes, so they’ve dropped down the ranks in my opinion. I think with iSeries coming up there will be a lot more to see for the December rankings.

That wraps up November’s Top 10, we hope you enjoy these articles as much as we do. Make sure you stay tuned to UKCSGO.com for further updates.
