ECS – Interview with FNS

by Archive

UKCSGO’s Duck sat down with TSM player FNS for a short interview ahead of their game vs Luminosity

You came into this tournament with a surprise, beating Astralis convincingly then only just losing to fnatic – talk me through that

We expect that of ourselves, like ELeague people thought the rounds we got were a fluke, we didn’t, we believe in our team. We also had a standin – like we also thought we’d get destroyed in terms of rounds at ELeague. It all came to fundamental mistakes which we sorted out and we were able to beat Cloud9 today.

You got here through play-offs against both CLG + Optic Gaming, also you’ve never beat C9 before… revenge?

Don’t really know, winning is winning, C9 is a great team. They have better teamwork than us due to being a team longer than us but when it comes to it we have a lot of skill in our team and we believed and we won.

You and Semphis have been in top lineups before so you have the talent and experience

I’d say we have a good mix of experience and a lot of talented playesrs on our team including autimatic, sick and twist – the youngsters on the team they played incredibly well today and online as well. I’m incredibly pleased that their online play translates into LAN as well because a lot of the time it doesn’t and it costs the team games and affects them mentally when they don’t do as well so I’m really glad they’re performing as well

Your next game is against Luminosity, how do you expect to fare?

They’re the best team in the world, in my opinion, they’re going to do a good job of shutting us down in a lot of areas we have to, again, stop getting eco’d. we’ll give them a challenge can’t say we’ll win – that’s arrogant. we’ll do a pretty good job of keeping them on their toes and if we capitalise on some of their mistakes we’ll win.

Are you hoping to take a map?

Yeah. expect to at least take one map from them, not sure about winning though

As a team, are you confident that you can make an impact?

Yeah we’re crazy confident. we’re not nervous, youngsters aren’t nervous. we’re ready and excited to play and have fun playing with each other. atmosphere is great losing gets heated but that’s with any team – glad we’re won and hoping to replicate tomorrow.

When are you next playing on LAN?

We have a break at the moment, unless we qualify or get invited. so guessing this is our last tournament for a bit so we can take a break, and practice and get more structure.

You’re in the UK – how has it been so far?

Awesome. I love the UK, I love the British accent. personally it’s the biggest accent, hot as hell. I grew up on soccer, lived in canada so never really visited Wembley stadium so being here, playing here is a dream come true.
