HenryG goes full-time

by Archive

On Tuesday, well-known former UK CS pro HenryG semi-silently announced on Twitter that he was moving into a full-time casting role in a number of tournaments, which was doubly confirmed when he later tweeted that he had quit his original full-time job in order to pursue this new career. When I noticed this, I reached out for a comment, and this is what I was given.

I started playing competitive CS well over ten years ago and everything has finally come full circle as I now consider myself a professional pundit. You don’t get the same adrenaline rush or the satisfaction of winning an event but with CS:GO in it’s current climate I feel this is the right move for me.

I have been considering the full-time move to casting for the last year or so, it’s just not been financially viable. Living in an expensive part of west London comes with some large bills to pay. With more organisations enquiring for my services and now I’m finally being able to justify charging a higher fee and taking the leap to an uncertain future of eSports! I don’t want to disclose any specific events before they are formally announced but I can tell you that I am going to start doing international tournaments and will also be trying to work the analyst desk as opposed to just colour commentary.

I’ll announce the bookings as fast as I can and the best place to keep up to date with my movements is going onto my Twitter account: @HenryGee

So it appears that HenryG is finally able to make this step in his career now that it is financially viable, and that we should be expecting him in various roles on tournaments, from analyst desks to colour casting games. He has already given a good account of himself in both at the ESL UK Premiership finals, and at the Gfinity Summer Masters I which occurred over the weekend that’s just passed. All we know for sure, is that we will see more of Henry over the coming months!
