insomnia56: CAZ -v- Monumentalis

by Archive

In the final Upper Bracket Semi-Final of the day, CAZ eSports took on Monumentalis, a team that had been exceeding everyone’s expectations this iSeries event to determine who’d play the winner of Infused v onlineBOTS/TLR in the insomnia56 Upper Bracket Final.

The first map was Mirage, with Monumentalis coming out of the breaks taking the first taking the first 5 rounds on their T side. CAZ managed to hit back to equal the game up in the tenth round, before pushing on to going 7-6 up. They continued on with this form and made a 9-6 lead at the half, keeping it fairly close to call. The second half came around and then the Monumentalis side picked up the pistol round and the four after bringing it to a slight lead at 9-10. However, CAZ returned to their known form and pushed forward and took out their counterparts and without dropping a single round afterwards, rounding out the map 16-10.

The second map was Cache, once again Monumentalis were on their T-Side and they took the first 5 rounds again. In a near mirror-image of the first map it was equalled out to 5-5 but this time Monumentalis came back to take them to 5-7, then 6-8 up before CAZ returned to even the half up at 7-8. Monumentalis once again stepped up after the half, dropping only one game to the end finishing the map at an 8-16 win, leaving the result of the final map to the thoughts of many.

It was set to be an interesting and close game, with the two maps before it being fairly strong for the either side but… well. CAZ were on the T side and took the first 5 rounds, as has been the theme, but then they just kept going… Going to a 15-0 half… Then a 16-0 final score.

CAZ move forward to face off against TLR(BOTS) in the Upper Bracket Final, where Monumentalis drop to the lower bracket to face the winner of CeX vs AT Gaming.
