ROYALS move up, Endpoint knocked down in ESEA League

by Archive

It’s a UK shuffle but not in the usual way this time as ESEA’s leagues are becoming final we’re finding out which teams are going to be relegated from Premier to Main or promoted from Main to Premier

First up is ROYALS.UK, Previously known as Dragon Esports, they placed 3rd/4th in last season’s ESEA Main division and their fate was left in the abyss until today when ESEA finally made them aware that they’d be playing in the Premier league this season,

ROYALS.UK will be playing ESEA Premier with the following roster:

  • Jack ‘kpiz‘ Pragnell
  • Josh ‘Tesquo‘ Faulkner
  • Ricardo ‘CRMJ‘ Costa
  • Jack ‘J4ck‘ Slosmanis
  • Josh ‘neph‘ Munro

On the other side of the spectrum however is Team Endpoint. who were supposed to be playing in this season of ESEA Premier due to ruling that said only the lower 6 teams would be up for relegation, Endpoint placed 18th out of 26th in the League last season, putting them above the point of relegation. Their spot in Premier was safe, right?

Wrong. An admin ruling has forced them back to ESEA Main, and Gambit Gaming was brought in in their place. ESEA admins are well within their rights to do this as they have a clause in the rules stating any decision can be made by admins at their discretion, However Endpoint and a lot of people both in and out of the UK Scene thinks this is a little unfair for them as they rightly earned their place in Premier and followed all rules unlike Gambit.

ESEA staff member “FewOwns” weighed in on the issue in the reddit thread made by Esio:

We have openly stated in the rules how our Premier division works. It essentially functions as our old Invite divisions did. We’re not hiding anything.

Move up and move downs for the Premier division are done based on admin discretion and the below guidelines do not necessarily apply. We reserve the right to add or remove teams based on our own guidelines during the off-season. We also reserve the right to adjust the amount of teams that are moved up or moved down between seasons to maintain competitive divisions.

Even with the outcry of support for Endpoint it looks like they’ll still be playing in ESEA Main for this season.

Their roster consists of:

  • Ian “Immi” Harding
  • Ben “Esio” Doughty
  • Max “MiGHTYMAX” Heath
  • Joe “Luzuh” Loose
  • George “hudzG” Hoskins

You can follow both these teams in their respective leagues on ESEA HERE and HERE and we wish the best of luck to the both of them!
