VATIC’s loss becomes Endpoint’s gain

by Archive

In a wild twist of events in the UK CS:GO Scene, Team VATIC who were “rumoured” to be picking up Orgless5 have today announced that they in fact did join for a brief time to then lose the team to another organisation.

Over the weekend, after our initial report had been published to much backlash from both the team in question and the organisation who branded us as a “clickbait website”, the team had competed in ELeague Qualifiers under the VATIC name. They had done incredibly well, reaching the quarter-finals of two of the qualifiers over the weekend.

However a short statement did read on the VATIC website today from Mark “Crossy” Cross:

Following a recent news post regarding the alleged acquisition of the team formerly known as Orgles5 we bring you a brief update on this situation, and to the future of the organisation in the Counter Strike series.

In the hunt for a new team to represent us, VATIC and Orgles5 came together in order to ensure the team were able to cover their ESEA fees for the forthcoming season, with the plan to develop a long-term relationship beyond that. As expected, a team of their calibre had received several very competitive offers from other organisations, with one standing out in particular.

The team have opted to instead sign with Team Endpoint. We are sorry to see them go, but feel this is a brilliant opportunity for the guys individually, and a forward step for UK Esports as a whole. While our relationship was short, it was definitely sweet.

Team Endpoint have since announced the team:

We have been looking into various options in terms of strengthening our CSGO squad, and we really wanted to find a lineup that we could build an ongoing relationship with. It was important that we found a highly skilled lineup, that with our support, could fly the flag for UK Counter Strike on an international level. We believe that this lineup represents that perfectly. In order to try and help strengthen the image of the scene, we have been looking to encourage stability, and are pleased to have come to a contractual agreement with the team for a period of 6 months. We look forward to the times ahead and the future events that we embark on together, both online and offline.

I also want to thank on record the organisation VATIC for their cooperation during our ongoing discussions. We were a little late putting an offer on the table, but the transition and relationship was more than amicable.

Three of the former Choke team who won epic.FIFTEEN are part of this team.

Ian “Immi” Harding also had this to say to Endpoint’s website:

We’re very happy to announce that we’ll be joining Endpoint. We’d been looking for an organisation to represent in the upcoming Mountain Dew League this season. Endpoint showed to us that they had the right mindset and also had the same goals. We believe that we have found a nice home in Endpoint and are looking forward to what lies ahead for us and the organisation. We’d like to thank Endpoint for this opportunity and the chance to be a part of the organisation!

It should also be noted that as ever with the UK Scene, Carl “Peggyyyy” Kneale was dropped as he was on “trial” with the team, in favour of picking up the new flavour of the UK Scene, Tom “Jenko” Jenkinson, who has joined the team despite being in a few different lineups in the last week. Tom does bring a unique dynamic to the side, and we look forward to seeing him in action under Ian’s wing.

The lineup is as follows (which should be noted is now official):

Ian “Immi” Harding
Ben “Esio” Doughty
Max “MiGHTYMAX” Heath
Tom “Jenko” Jenkinson
Owen “smooya” Butterfield

The team will be competing in the upcoming ESEA Season 23 Premier Division, and are looking at potentially attending future LANs. We will keep you upto date with the current moves of the rest of the UK CS:GO Scene, so make sure you stay tuned to UKCSGO.com for all your coverage in the UK.
