epic26: Groups and Format

With the epic26 tournament commencing right now (right now!) the groups and format have been confirmed. With 43 teams the format is seeing eight groups be formed, with five groups featuring five teams and three groups featuring six teams.

The playoff format will see 24 teams promoted from the groups into the double-elimination knockout bracket. The top two teams from each group (16 teams) will head to the upper bracket while the third placed team (eight teams) in each group will be granted a spot in the lower bracket.

epic26: Prizes and Seeds

Last night the epic26 main stage hosted another edition of the Phoenix UK podcast, of which the first portion announced the seeds for the event. When the sign-up window slammed shut at 10pm last night, 43 teams were registered for the tournament, meaning the prize pool for this event will be £5250, in the following distribution:
