With UK Masters handed control of the BYOC tournaments at Insomnia last event, it was always expected they’d return with big things for the Summer LAN of Insomnia 63. With many demanding changes from many, man LANs ago – they have finally listened and are offering a big change for the August Bank Holiday weekend event.
First up, there are set to be online qualifiers for travel support and accommodation for the event. It will start off with two open qualifiers, where the top two from each will head to a closed qualifier. That closed qualifier will then see the top two teams from that receive full accommodation and £1000 of travel support to attend Insomnia63.
But that is not all – UK Masters are set to host the largest ever CS:GO BYOC tournament at an Insomnia, ever. Insomnia63 will play host to the UK Masters CS:GO Open, where there will be £30,000 on offer in prize pool. That £30,000 will be split between the top eight finishing teams. This makes up the bulk of the esports prize pool offering at the upcoming Insomnia, which is set to have £50,000 on offer in total, with other tournaments including League of Legends, Rocket League, Hearthstone and Team Fortress 2. Full distribution and tournament format are still be announced, so stay locked onto UKCSGO.com to find out more. With all this on offer, us at UKCSGO.com expect this to be one of the largest and most competitive CS:GO events for a long while.
All of the qualifiers will be held over three weeks, with the open qualifiers for Insomnia63 set to be held on Tuesday 26th June and Tuesday 3rd July, with signups available on the FACEIT platform, and the closed qualifier to be held on Tuesday 10th July. Further details about the event as a whole can be found on the dedicated page on the UK Masters website. Good luck and have fun teams.
