With EGX around the corner we decided to take our top 10 format and run down with our predictions for this weekends CSGO event containing the likes of NiP, EnVyUs, Fnatic and Virtus Pro battling it out for a share of the $100,000 prize pool.
Staff Predictions have been done in the following format –
First Place – 10 Points,
Second Place – 7 Points,
Third Place – 5 Points,
Fourth Place – 3 Points.
4 | Ninjas In Pyjamas f0rest, GeT_RiGhT, friberg, Xizt, Allu | 15 |
3 | EnVyUs Happy, kioShiMa, NBK, kennyS, apEX | 27 |
2 | Fnatic JW, flusha, pronax, KRiMZ, olofmeister | 41 |
1 | Virtus Pro TaZ, Neo, pasha, Snax, byali | 42 |
With the voting being incredibly close between VP and Fnatic it’s fair to say that most the staff are expecting a VP Fnatic finals, with Virtus Pro to take the win overall.

For me I feel that VP are going to take this event in the end, with the pure strength of VP when they’re in plow mode with Fnatic being the only team that seems to be able to topple them in this position, and even then it looks like they’re struggling to be able to beat VP in this situation. If this is the finals though I feel it’ll be one of the best series of CS this year by far. I really do not feel that Envy will be able to get higher than 3rd, the performance at Dreamhack London was amazing, but against Fnatic I feel that they really don’t stand a chance as it stands.

“Right now there is nothing suggesting to me that Fnatic won’t be able to take this one. I believe they’re still the strongest team at the moment and despite VP’s tendency to counter Fnatic it’s not enough to convince me they’ll be able to come out on top overall. Envy however continue to improve and develop as a team and from their recent performance at Dreamhack London I’m confident they’ll put up a strong fight and with their rather unpredictable style of play it might just be the perfect counter to VP. NiP on the other hand continue to steadily decline in comparison to many other teams and despite their decent performance in Dubai it’s not enough to convince me otherwise, leaving VP with the 3rd spot.”
Adam “Blanks” Heath
“For me I found this a tough one to call and now with the DreamHack London results in it could be even closer. Virtus Pro have been on form recently and have landed some really strong results in what would normally be tough games. For the amount of time and effort that has taken on their part I would love to see them do well at this event. I think the EnVyUs score in the predictions doesn’t do them justice either and the fight for top 3 will be closer than the predictions show. As for NiP they haven’t been on form lately but they are more than capable of pulling this event out the bag if they work some of their Ninja magic.”
