The Coalesce roster are no longer under contract with the organisation, their players have announced, after playing under the banner since January this year. In a somewhat surprising development, the players aren’t looking to stick together as a team, but will instead be open to opportunities in new rosters, meaning one of the UK scene’s top teams is set to disband after almost two years together.
Before playing in the Coalesce jersey, the team had been together for over 20 months, representing Heaven and Hell and most famously as 1PIN. The roster had found success during that time, with notable achievements including progressing from ESEA Open to ESL Challenger League Relegation, making playoffs in CCT West Europe Series 1 and 3, and winning EPIC.LAN 38. Most recently they finished in 3rd-4th place in ESL Premiership Spring 2023.
Additionally, Coalesce have announced they will be undergoing restructuring as a company. “Coalesce will be going quiet for the short term, in order to restructure the business and let the board put in place the correct measures and action to build for the future” read a statement published on their website. It follows the departure of Director of Esports Sam “Kanny” Hollinrake from the organisation on Friday.
