Into the Breach recently made history by being the first British team to make top eight in a CS:GO major, the last one no less. With this tremendous achievement also came along uncertainty about the future of the roster. It is a well-known fact that bigger organizations who are looking to upgrade their rosters often do so by picking up emerging talent from smaller teams, and Into the Breach’s young roster has become a target.
The roster mania during this off-season has been unpredictable to say the least, and joining the growing list of players who have set off for greener pastures is Sebastian “volt” Malos. volt leaves the team less than two months after making the quarterfinals of the last CS:GO major. As a player, volt was crucial to ITB’s recent success with him being a consistent performer in the team.
Into the Breach’s online performance was not quite up to their high standards, but before this roster change they won the ESL Premiership Spring 2023 title by defeating the reigning champions Endpoint 3-1 in the finals, essentially cementing themselves as the current best team in UK.
Although nothing concrete has been decided, recent rumours have pointed towards GamerLegion signing volt, an organization which has also been subject to poaching by teams like MOUZ and NAVI.
An important thing to note is the fact that this most likely isn’t the last roster change for Into the Breach as recent reports have linked their star player Cai “CYPHER” Watson to a move to TSM. The future for Into the Breach and volt alike remains wide open.
