Only 12 days after Matas “Extinct” Strumila’s initial announcement for Project G, the mix has announced his departure on X.

Having enjoyed successful spells in several teams with Verdant’s current core, Extinct and Verdant mutually agreed to move the rifler to the bench to allow him to focus on his studies. In mid-May, following the completion of his academic duties, Extinct announced he was ready to compete again.

On June 7th, Project G reintroduced themselves to the scene by announcing a line-up consisting of the Irish rifler, as well as a Polish core of Blazej “zaNNN” Bączkowski, Rafal “sNx” Snopek and Arek “Vegi” Nawojski, completed by former GODSENT AWPer Sean “eraa” Knutsson. Despite the hype of the announcement, the roster did not go as expected.

Eagle-eyed CS fans noticed the Irishman’s absence from the handful of European Pro League matches Project G competed in during Extinct’s official time on the roster. Erik “truth” Hansen Dyrnes stood in for Project G in matches against Johnny Speeds, DUSTY and EXO Clan.

Also, Extinct has stood in for several of Verdant’s recent games in place of Mohamad “Ducky” Nourelden leading to speculation – both about his place in Project G and his potential reunion with his former teammates in Verdant.

With the writing already on the wall, less than two weeks after his place in the mix was announced, Project G took to twitter to announce truth’s official place in the team and Extinct’s departure.

Project G’s announcement also included the introduction of former Apeks rifler Kristian “akez” Kornbakk as coach, as well as Northern Ireland’s Andy “Mythix” Shek as an analyst. Despite his young age, Mythix is well-known within the UK scene having worked as an analyst and coach for several teams, most recently coaching UKIC Division 1’s ROYALS.

Project G are now:

Sean “eraa” Knutsson
Blazej “zaNNN” Bączkowski
Rafal “sNx” Snopek
Arek “Vegi” Nawojski
Erik “truth” Hansen Dyrnes

Kristian “akez” Kornbakk (Coach)
Andy “Mythix” Shek (Analyst)
