After being the uncontested best team in the world this year, all eyes were on Vitality to see if they could cement their legacy by securing a Major win. However, in the first game of Stage 3 at the BLAST.tv Austin Major, underdogs Legacy smite another top team.
Vitality started off the year by losing to Eternal Fire at BLAST Bounty 2025 Season 1 Finals. Since then, Vitality has not lost a single series and won six trophies in a row. 139 days of complete domination.
Within those 139 days, Vitality won IEM Katowice, ESL Pro League Season 21, BLAST Open Lisbon, IEM Melbourne, ESL Grand Slam, BLAST Rivals Season 1, and IEM Dallas. One of those tournaments could make a team’s season, Vitality just won them all.
Despite being unstoppable, Vitality players insisted that this wouldn’t be “an era” without winning a Major, which would be their crown jewel.
Therefore, there is a bit of pressure on Vitality coming into the BLAST.tv Austin Major to see if they can add claim their crown jewel, Legacy had other ideas.
The Brazilians were not even supposed to be at the major, but ended up replacing BESTIA after they couldn’t secure visas for their players. Legacy had a second chance, and they ran with it.
Legacy had a rough start in Stage 1, but was able to scrape through with back-to-back wins over Imperial and Wildcard. Most people thought their run would end in Stage 2, but it was only just getting started. The snowball had started as Legacy demolished MIBR, 3DMAX, and FaZe as they breezed through Stage 2 3-0.
Dynasty over.

Even though Legacy were on form, this shouldn’t have been a difficult game for Vitality. Instead, what transpired in the opening BO1 was not what anyone could have imagined.
Vitality won the first pistol round, and that was about it. They could only pull together three rounds in the first half, none of them in a consecutive manner. Legacy roaring at the top of their lungs made their mark in Austin as they ended Vitality’s 30-match win streak with ease, ending the map 13-3.
Vitality is the first team to go into the 0-1 bracket in Stage 3 of the BLAST.tv Austin Major, but they will still have opportunities to bounce back.
