Sebastian “volt” Malos has become a free agent after leaving GamerLegion.
The Romanian rifler, who played under the UK flag for the start of his career, first came to prominence playing with Tom “arTisT” Clarke on UMX Gaming and Coalesce, before joining fnatic Rising in 2022. Despite winning WePlay Academy League Season 5 – defeating one Danil “donk” Kryshkovets in the process – fnatic put their academy project on pause, with volt opting to join the then-nascent Into the Breach project.
Alongside Cai “CYPHER” Watson in aggressive roles and volt acting as a site anchor and star lurker, the unfancied British squad made it all the way to the quarter-finals of the BLAST Paris Major 2023, eliminating Fnatic in the process. They added the ESL Premiership title shortly afterwards, ending Endpoint’s streak of six straight titles.
volt quickly emerged as a target for larger organisations, with GamerLegion needing a replacement for NAVI-bound fellow Romanian Mihai “iM” Ivan, he was quickly snatched up and teamed up with the core that reached the Major final in Paris. He opted to represent Romania from this point on, having dual nationality.

volt’s two years with GamerLegion saw a large number of roster changes – at the time he was benched, he was the only player left from when he joined.
Working with UK coach Ash “ashhh” Battye, GamerLegion narrowly missed out on play-offs at volt’s first event, IEM Cologne 2023, and made quarter-finals at Gamers8. They lost to 9Pandas in the PGL Copenhagen Major European RMR decider, but received a call-up due to visa issues with the Russian squad, exiting at the first stage. They went one better in Shanghai, making the Elimination Stage, but were unable to advance after losses to Vitality, Liquid and NAVI.
Ultimately, it was volt who would pay the price for the side.
He was benched in January, with GamerLegion acquiring Fredrik “REZ” Sterner from Ninjas in Pyjamas and young rifler OldÅ™ich “PR” Nový from MOUZ NXT. ashhh explained that the move was done because of role issues, as the team struggled with having “too many supportive pieces”. Since volt‘s exit, GamerLegion reached the quarter-finals of PGL Bucharest and narrowly missed play-offs at IEM Katowice 2025 and ESL Pro League Season 21 – though an exit in the EU MRQ will have stung.
In an X post from volt, he stated:
I am LFT and incredibly motivated to grind to the top, with my eyes firmly set on the upcoming major in Budapest. With the exception of IGL, I’m open to all rifling roles.
