BLAST Open London begins online, as 16 of the world’s best teams compete for only six spots in the playoffs, which will be held at the OVO Arena Wembley.
Starting on Wednesday, 27th August at 11am BST, the teams will be split into two double-elimination brackets. Both teams from the upper final qualify through to London, with the winner of that game proceeding straight to the semi-finals. The last spot in the group goes to the winner of the lower final
Group A
As it so happens, the four teams that have UK representatives are all competing in the same group, with Vitality and M80 playing against each other first.
William “mezii” Merriman and Vitality have been the undisputed best team in the world, winning seven events in a row in the first half of the season. So far, they have been a bit slower getting back into the swing of things with semi-final finishes at IEM Cologne, BLAST Bounty Season 2, and a fourth-place finish at EWC 2025.
They sit as the favourites to qualify for London alongside FaZe and Natus Vincere.

Can mezii lift his first trophy after the player break in front of a home crowd?
They will be facing off against Rory “dephh” Jackson’s M80, who qualified from Ace NA Masters 2025 Season 2 – BLAST Premier Rising Event, a tall task for the North American squad.
Ashley “ash” Battye and GamerLegion are still getting their new AWPer, Jeremy “Kursy” Gast, acclimatised to Tier-1 and will be playing Virtus.Pro in the first round
Only a month into his stint on fnatic, Cai “CYPHER” Watson will be looking to test himself against Tier-1 opponents for the second time. After a rough start statistically, the Brit will look to prove himself first against a perhaps struggling Natus Vincere in a pursuit to play in front of his home crowd.
Vitality vs M80 – 11:00 BST
GamerLegion vs Virtus.pro – 13:30 BST
FaZe vs ECSTATIC – 16:00 BST
NAVI vs fnatic – 18:30 BST
Group B
The current number-one team in the world and reigning champion of BLAST London headlines the team list for Group B.
Team Spirit come in as favourites to not only make it out of the group, but to win the whole event, as they won IEM Cologne and BLAST Bounty 2025 Season 2 Finals to start the second season of 2025. This event also serves as a redemption after a poor showing at the Esports World Cup.
It will not come easily, though, as MOUZ will be looking for revenge after losing to the Russian squad in the finals of IEM Cologne and the semi-finals of BLAST Bounty Season 2.

Spirit will be looking to secure back-to-back wins in London
Speaking of redemption, G2 versus Liquid is going to be a barnbuster of a first-round matchup. Both teams playing under legendary names have been seriously struggling. This is a great opportunity for one of these teams to try and cause an upset and contest a spot in the OVO Arena.
Group B has grouped together the three Brazilian teams, with Furia and Legacy playing each other in the opening round. Both teams proved what they were capable of at the BLAST.tv Austin Major, and with South American Counter-Strike firmly on the map, this is yet another opportunity for their region to flourish.
MOUZ vs Imperial – 11:00 BST
G2 vs Liquid – 13:30 BST
Spirit vs FlyQuest – 16:00 BST
FURIA vs Legacy – 17:30 BST
