Changes in Choke Gaming

by Archive

Rumours have been floating around ever since MightyMax left Choke to go to university that the team would fold in the following weeks. After major pickups including Neil M as the new coach for the team and Onscreen looking to be replacing Max, leading to rumors that the team is going to be calling it a day, which is not the case.

Recent reports from a source close to the team cited that with Max gone one player was taking a break and another player had decided to quit completely. Yesterday Neil M added to this by saying that he has parted ways with Choke Gaming which seems to be on positive terms with the team.

With EPS last night ending at 8:16 this also puts Choke in a bad spot for EPS, meaning that the 3rd place they’re currently holding with the rocky performance could knock them out of the top 4 stopping them from attending the offline lan finals.

Choke are still looking to defend their win from epic 15 and will be in attendance at epic 16, yet the roster for this event has not been fully decided.

Vince from Choke Gaming was asked for comment and had the following to say –

On the recent rumors revolving around the team

There’s been a few rumours going around social media regarding our CSGO Squad.
We dont really entertain rumours however like any team we have our problems. But nothing we cant sort out. We have been consistently performing well which can sometimes add pressure to get results.
We’ve had to play alot of games lately. Insomnia 55 defiantly took it out of some and its been a little tough to get rest with all the ESL, CEVO and ESEA official matches and pracc for the upcoming Epic LAN
We suffered a couple of bad results lately but its just how it goes..you win some you lose some. I wouldn’t take much from the gossip of the UK scene 🙂
We will continue fighting for a final LAN spot in the ESL Premiership and look forward to attending Epic LAN 16.

On NeilM

Choke and NeiL_M have parted ways but theres no bad blood. He did what he initially set out to do with us and that was to help coach and motivate the team for Insomnia 55. We wish him all the best in future endeavours

On Max and Onscreen.

Max hasn’t left the team hes just very busy with starting university. Craig is a good friend and has been standing in for him. We have a busy schedule so having more then 5 players is defiantly a bonus right now
