draken and Rusty join Into the Breach

The team will be debuting at Assembly Summer 2022 in Helsinki.

It is now confirmed that the former NIP and FNATIC player will be joining Into the Breach for the Assembly Summer 2022 event, alongside the veteran another Swede will be joining the Brits. William “draken” Sundin and Alfred “RuStY” Karlsson, the latter of which recently parted ways with GamerLegion, will both be joining the team. Unlike previous teams RuStY has been on he will not be calling. The news to bring on these two players might come as a shock to some as Into the Breach were trialing xx Adam “Wolfy” Andersson & Linus “LNZ” Holtang.

For Into the Breach this move makes a lot of sense, they have been recently playing with Owen “Smooya” Butterfield and Thomas “Thomas” Utting but this was always a ticking time bomb. The two were never long-term players for the squad with both never formally signing a full contract. The decision to bring in draken and RuStY is reportedly one aimed at giving the squad a higher ceiling and one that allows their young star, Cai “CYPHER” Watson, to have more room.

Since returning to the game after his retirement and moving to VALORANT, draken has been playing for Swedish mix Savage alongside some old greats such as Maikil “Golden” Selim and some young up-and-comers in Hugo “Chawzyyy” Günther. Whilst playing on Savage, draken has been able to post up some good stats, putting up a 1.26 rating in his very first event back. It will be interesting to see if draken will be able to add a European veteran element that ITB may have been missing. Interestingly this is also a chance for draken to reunite with RuStY as the two played together in 2020 on GamerLegion.

For RuStY this is a return to playing with some of his former teammates in both William “dobbo” Dobson and Adam “Adam9130” Ahmad, since the trio once played together on GamerLegion. He has been recently standing in for the squad and despite not posting incredible numbers in those matches, he clearly brings something to this team that Adam9130 likes because he will now be playing with them for their next LAN in Finland and the foreseeable future.

UKCSGO reached out to SLayTheMinotaur for a comment:

We’re truly excited to introduce William “Draken” Sundin and Alfred “RuStY” Karlsson to our active CS:GO line-up. This settles a period of instability for us, with Smooya and Thomas graciously playing the role of stand-ins while we figure our overall direction. Big thanks to them for joining us for the short period they did, offering their own experience, insight and following.

Our core trio of UK’s best upcoming talent in Adam9130, Dobbo and Cypher are now paired with a powerful and experienced Swedish duo. Everyone within the squad is highly motivated to break ground and prove once again that the Swedish + UK combo is and excellent one.

Into the Breach are now:
Adam “Adam9130” Ahmad
Cai “CYPHER” Watson
William “dobbo” Dobson
Alfred “RuStY” Karlsson
William “draken” Sundin
Gustavo “Juve” Alexandre (coach)
