After a long day of CS:GO the UK only London Dreamhack Qualifiers come to a close. Following a day of drama and issues with seedings and when the Qualifiers actually started, the grand finals consisted of EZskins, after beating Choke in the best game of the day going into multiple over times and defeating Infused on their way to the finals, whilst team_batham played and beat Reason.UK and 2s2p.Â
First map to be played is Dust 2 which starts with team_batham (CT) being able to take the first 3 rounds with EZskins (T) only being able to get one Bomb Plant. With EZskins first buy round they decide to go all in with an AWP purchase in the hands of fearLess allowing them to convincingly take the first buy round. Later in the half Puls3 handles a 3v3 re-take on A site with a string of quick kills allowing EZskins to take the round with the bomb planted. team_batham bring it back on Round 9 with mikeE picking up the awp for an aggressive window play on B, allowing him to win the round for Batham taking 3 people out. The first half ends with a dominating advantage for EZskins taking it 11 – 4 and only dropping one round after their initial round 4 buy round. During the 2nd half EZskins manage to not drop a round, taking the game 16-4.
Second map is Inferno with EZskins playing as the CT’s and team_batham as the Terrorists sending 4 up apartments against the solo RattlesnK on A, managing to take him out planting the bomb and forcing the 4v5 retake, ending with 2 members of team_batham surviving. Third round ends the anti ecos for team_batham going up 2nd mid into apps and dropping out of apps through the balcony and rushing banana. First half ends in a similar fashion to the 1st map, team_batham get the first 3 then manage to drop all but 2 rounds after that, giving EZskins a 10-5 lead going into the second half. In the uneventful second half the opposite happens, EZskins take the first 3 and on the first buy round team_batham manage to pick up the round in what could have been a change of pace for the game, in turn turned into EZskins picking up the following round. The game ends with EZskins taking the next 3 rounds and qualifying for Dreamhack London with a dominating performance over team_batham, finishing the map 16-6 and the series 2-0.
Congratulations to EZskins for qualifying to the Dreamhack Open London event on September 19-20th, which will see them face up against some strong teams from the continent, including the runners-up of ESL One Cologne, Team EnVyUs.
