Earlier in the year it was revealed by DreamHack that as a part of their open circuit tour they would be bringing the DreamHack name to London. The event, set to take place in the middle of September this year, will feature a grand total of eight teams with a $40,000 prize pool.
Five of the eight participants have been directly invited to the event, leaving three spots open for three online qualifiers. Of these three qualifiers, there will be two open European qualifiers and one dedicated UK only qualifier, thereby guaranteeing that a UK team will be present in the final eight teams at the event. The open European qualifiers will see four teams advance into a closed qualifier alongside a further selection of invited teams, with the top two securing a spot at the London based event.
The qualifier information is as follows:
Open EU Qualifier 1: August 15th (Top 2 advance to closed qualifier)
Open EU Qualifier 2: August 16th (Top 2 advance to closed qualifier)
Closed EU Qualifier: August 17th – 19th (Top 2 advance to DreamHack Open London)
UK Qualifier: August 23rd (Top 1 advances to DreamHack open London)
Further information and sign-up links can be found in the DreamHack announcement.
The UK qualifier will take place from 12:00 CEST on the 23rd of August, with space for up to 128 participants.
