Nine hours after tournament play resumed this morning, the LowLandLions mix participating under the Rasta banner became the first team to secure their spot in the epic EIGHTEEN grand final.
They found themselves up against tournament second seed Team Infused, who many consider to be the only other team at the event with a chance of taking home the top prize. The first map, de_cache, initially saw a close half between the two sides, leaving it difficult to call who would finally take the map. However as the game progressed, it became obvious that the international presence in the Rasta mix team, backed by the support of Neil_M, were outperforming their opposition. The map eventually went their way, giving them the upper hand going in to the second map.
Following on from map one was de_cbble, a map that the Infused side a typically known for making their own and getting the better of their opposition. Starting on the terrorist side, the Infused roster were met by a solid defence, with very little room to manoeuvre their campaigns into each bombsite. As the halves switched, the story was much the same. Rasta were unrelenting in there advances on to the B bombsite taking it round after round, and just as the Infused roster adapted, the focus shifted from B to A, catching them off their stride. Eventually cbble went to the Rasta side in a more one sided fashion than one would’ve expected, seeing Infused drop to the lower bracket and Rasta take spot number on in the final.
