With a seat in the ESL Pro League S17 Conference on the line, all the top teams in the region have been battling it out in ESL Premiership Autumn. The current reigning champions, Endpoint, have held this crown since the last five iterations of the event. With the first round of matches done for both groups, UKCSGO has a round-up of the results for anyone who missed the action.

Group A

The initial matches of Group A provided us with a glimpse of how close this season could be, with Endpoint converting their first matchup against 1PIN only after a hard fought victory, with a close scoreline of 16-14. They were then able to beat Dripmen with less resistance in their second clash, with a 16-6 score on Ancient. Currently they sit top of the group with two wins.

Both ROYALS and Big Time Rush have a win to their name after their first games. While ROYALS showed promise as they dispatched If I Speak 16-8, Big Time Rush caused the main talking point from the first matches as they upset Dripmen in a close overtime game running out 19-15 winners.

It is early days but 1PIN and If I Speak will look to make amends for thier first losses, while, Dripmen have a battle to make play offs after losing their opening two matchups.

Despite the early scare against 1PIN, Endpoint appears ready to clinch a playoff spot, as it should be for the reigning champion.

Group B

Coming into the event off the back of recent roster moves, Viperio showed a impressive performance against Into The Breach a team which is the favourite to challenge Endpoint as champions. Viperio currently sit on top of the group due to the dominant 16-5 scoreline.

XRAVEL won their opening match against Legates Esports 16-12, a battle between two of the teams who made it through the open qualifiers to reach Group stage which puts them 1-0 in the standings. They currently occupy the second spot in the group.

With a score of 16-13, Team 7AM defeated eMasters in their opening game of the week, and although Into The Breach’s first match ended in a defeat, they were able to turn their second match against Team 7AM into a victory with a commanding score of 16-4.

Both Team 7AM and Into The Breach are 1-1 in the group standings. With a loss each, eMasters and Legates Esports are both at the bottom of the group.

Today will mark the start of the next round of matches, with some action packed matchups from Group A. 1PIN will take on Big Time Rush in the first fixture, while Dripmen will look to get their first win of the season against ROYALS in the last matchup of the day.
