ESL have released their “record shattering” stats from the ESL UK Premiership 2015 Spring Season and I have to say, they are pretty impressive! Some people were sceptical about the return of a championship style tournament in the UK and feared it would raise hopes, only to have them torn down again after one cycle, but the viewership and growth that ESL saw throughout last season only solidifies how popular and needed it is.
During the finals of this event which was hosted at MCM Comicon – London, ESL saw over 800,000 unique viewers join the stream to watch the event and a live crowd, 1,000 strong.
This coming next season will no doubt shatter the number and with the qualifiers for the next season being well underway there is even more incentive for teams and organisations to be a part of it. With Xpra and fish123 claiming the first two spots of four in the Summer Promotion Tournament the pressure is on for the other teams hoping to snatch up one of the other two remaining spots. Big names such as TLR, Molotovs and Marshmallows, Reason Gaming and CaZ eSports all have their aims set on one of these sought after spots. The sign-ups are still open so head over to ESL now to register your team.
