We were close to having the biggest upset to far this event as Monumentalis, 8th seed, narrowly escaped defeat against Barrage, 16th seed. The game was set on Overpass, a map where a team can easily put up a good fight and in that it has played its part in many upsets. The late addition to Barrage’s lineup, James “Fisher” Fisher, was the driving force to Barrage’s success in this game but were narrowly denied the game as Monumentalis slowed their terrorist tactics and using a lot more of the round time to execute their plans and finish out the game 16-14.
Monumentalis have not been shy about sharing how they feel they will do at this event. Talking to the players after the game it was clear they knew they had narrowly dodged a bullet but were confident moving on to the prize brackets taking part on day two.
