by Archive

After being a part of the CAZ furniture for the past few years, Jake “jakem” McCausland has moved himself and their roster to returning org, The Imperial.

Receiving an “offer we couldn’t refuse”, the team joined the organisation most recently seen hosting a Danish CS:GO line-up. The Imperial are currently more well known for hosting a European Call of Duty team. Founded in 2008, they hosted a wide range of teams, including in CS:Source. They closed in 2012 before returning last year.

On joining the organisation, Jake “jakem” McCausland said:

The team is very excited to begin its new adventure under the Imperial brand. We share the same ambitions and determination with the hope to grow together. We believe this move will help us in reaching the next level for the team. Thanks to Oli and Imperial for the opportunity but also thanks to CAZ eSports who have been a great home to myself and the team previously.

The Imperial’s CEO, Oli Adams, had this to say:

I have always believed in supporting UK teams across various games as we were once some of the best gamers in world. Unfortunately over the last few years the standards have dropped and our rivals have opened up a big gap. However I truly believe with the right committent and support our CS teams can challenge the top teams. Esports in general is becoming more accepted in the UK and this will have a huge impact on players commitments. In light of this, I would like to welcome our new UK CS team!

The team is currently competing in ESL UK’s Premiership, the UK Gaming Tours and Multiplay’s UK Masters. Their first display in their new colours will be against Team Infused in the Premiership tomorrow, Feb 6th, at 9pm.

The Imperial line-up is:

Jake “jakem” McCausland
Conor “conoR” McCool
Phil “Whindanski” Nicholas
Jake “Boaster” Howlett
Craig “REAZN” Brackenridge
