Adam “AdamJC” Colwell recently announced on X (formerly Twitter) that Ireland will be represented at the Online Qualifiers for the IESF World Esports Championship 2024. The Western Europe online qualifiers will take place this July whereby the Irish squad will compete for the six spot available.

Ireland competed in the Western European qualifiers for last years tournament, but unfortunately failed to get through to the main event. The core of the team remains the same with only two new faces representing the island nation.

The first member representing Team Ireland will be the aforementioned AdamJC. The IGL was most recently a part of The Last Resort (TLR), but is most well-known for his time with K10 from January to November 2023. The Irishman is currently a free agent. Joining him is are two of his long-time teammates, William “Wiiam” O’shea and Englishman Jamie “Tree60” Callan.

Wiiam played on K10 alongside Tree60 and AdamJC and later moved on to TLR with his Irish IGL. Wiiam previously represented Ireland in the last IESF qualifiers and is currently a free agent.

Through his Irish father, Tree60 is an Irish passport holder and is therefore eligible to play for Ireland in all IESF competitions. Considering England do not compete in these competitions there is no way that he could represent multiple teams at the event. This will be the first time that the young rifler will play for Ireland.

Alongside them is Tom “arTisT” Clarke, and Ciaran “biscu” King who both represented Ireland last year. Biscu and arTisT have a long history together as they both became the first two Irishman to qualify for a Major RMR in 2023. Now both playing for Verdant, the two remain in the UK and Irish history books.

Matas “Extinct” Strumila is the final member of the Irish team, he also competed for Viperio at the RMR, however, he did not play in the qualifiers.

The full list of teams for the IESF qualifiers have yet to be announced, but the Irish representatives will be:

Tom “arTisT” Clarke
Adam “AdamJC” Colwell
Matas “Extinct” Strumila
William “Wiiam” O’shea
Jamie “Tree60” Callan

Ciaran “biscu” King (coach)
