Generic Team Name have been hitting the UK scene hard over the last few months, appearing in the UK Masters after blasting through the online qualifiers, though their performance after that has left much to be desired. However despite that, the rebooted organisation London Lynx have decided to pick up these guys and take them on as their first team since 2013. They’ve been teasing this on their twitter since UK Masters started, cheering on GTN and retweeting UK Masters based tweets however it is not until now that the contracts are been signed and the players officially join London Lynx.
London Lynx have had some successful names in their roster before with the likes of som, VertiGo, ALIG and prolific streamer onscreen back in 2013, they went quiet for a couple of years as the organisations founders were busy with other projects.
The London Lynx founder had some words to say about the pickup of GTN:
With the new announement we are also taking a new stance to how we approach the UK scene as our main goal is to improve the quality of the scene itself, with this we’re going to be providing support for new and upcoming players, teams within the scene, looking to take the next steps towards becoming professional.
Now we’re glad we can announce our first team, they’ve been known as “Generic Team Name” GTN and have been showing some strong results, more recently
qualifying for UKMasters and gaining the experience against the top teams in the UK scene there.
The London Lynx lineup is as follows:
Zain “Trouble” Panjwani
Richard “isaac” Isaac
Steven “Snakey” Dang
Ricky “MajorLeeMessedup” Wong
Wayne “AhB” Chan
isaac had a few words to say about the pickup of his team:
We (GTN) are happy to announce that we will now be representing London LYNX in all current and future events we will be participating in! We look forward to continuing our progress as a team with the backing of such a supportive organisation and would like to thank them for this opportunity
You can catch London Lynx in the Multiplay UK Masters, They’ll also be attending Insomnia 59 later next month and are in the playoffs for ESEA Intermediate with the chance to qualify for Main.
