The eSports organisation ‘MALIK eSports’ has announced not 1, but 2 brand new lineups to represent their established brand name in hope to breath some life back into the gaming organisation. For those of you who don’t know, MALIK eSports are a UK based organisation which strive to become one of the most ‘respected organisations in the UK’ and by recruiting eSports teams and supporting them, they believe this can be achieved. Without further ado, the first UK team’s roster is:
Jon “Cynic” Burvill
Callum “Caspian” Brawn (Team-Captain)
Marcus “Hveem” Hveem
Samwell “Sam” Reynolds
Liam “Ls” Scotter
You may recognize some of the names from the i57 lineup ‘Pick n Mix’/’Candy Kings’ who managed to achieve 5th-8th place. With further support and their slight roster changes, we could see them exceed this standing in their future tournaments. Its good to see these teams are getting support that is needed and that organisations are picking up UK teams despite the stigma that surrounds the UK CS scene. This is just what is needed in order to improve our teams, especially those that have younger members who perhaps lack the experience of many LANs. Following this pick-up we managed to gather some thoughts on it from “Caspian”  (IGL for MALIK) himself:
Candy Kings CS:GO team will officially today be re-branding under MALIK eSports. All 5 members (Caspian, Cynic, Sam, Hveem and Liam) will be joining the lineup.
I would like to say that we are excited for the future of our team and that we are looking forward to being involved with Malik as this is a good opportunity for us to grow under an organisation. We will be attending i58 & i59 this year and hope that we can strive forward and show the UK scene that we deserve to be under such a strong name.
I myself am looking forward to working hand in hand with the managers of the organisation and keep them up to date with our progress and plans for the team. I’d like to thank MALIK for the opportunity to take us on and hope we can display our hard work in the upcoming months.
Along with this team, MALIK have also picked up a much smaller and newer team who will be attending their first LAN in June (EpicLAN.EIGHTEEN). This second lineup will be an academy lineup, named MALIK.A, who the organisation are also helping to push in the eSports scene. This lineup will be captained by Dean “TotunG” Grealish. MALIK is hoping this team can perform at a high level in the near future, but for now will guided during their ‘pre-LAN’ phase with training and such. Again, its good to see the support is being offered as sometimes teams just need some organisational structure which can give them the motivation to perform well. This academy roster includes:
Dean ‘TotunG’ Grealish
Luke ‘rekalz’ Browne
Jerry ‘CANNIBAL’ Stewart
Elliot ‘Jells’ Hollamby
Henry ‘RanGa’ Dickinson
“TotunG” also expressed his thoughts on the matter:
Despite us only being a small team with little experience, I’m really glad we managed to secure MALIK eSports as an organisation especially with their noteworthy reputation in eSports. As we know, we have big shoes to fill due to their previous rosters in Counter Strike, however I can confidently say that we’re going to strive to become one of the best and also realise it’s going to take much hard work and dedication. MALIK eSports becoming our organisation has not only motivated us hugely but also pushed us to improve our team synergy by ways such as giving us a more structural training regime and pushing us towards participating in the available tournaments. I cannot thank them enough for trusting us despite our experience and giving us a real opportunity to prosper.
Both lineups have been said to be entering into the GameFace EU Cash Cup next week as well as attending i58 later on this year which should prove to be interesting to see their performances.
