Multiplay roll out new tournament system

by Archive

It looks like Multiplay have finally put ClanForge into retirement and rolled out a new tournament platform ahead of i56. ClanForge has been a part of iSeries for as long as most attendees can remember and has been the controlling force for most iSeries tournaments. Over the years the system has slowly caused more problems than it solved and was a key contributor to some tournament delays. Multiplay have been saying for a long time that a new version is in the works but it looks like they have now moved away from a fully in-house coded platform and implemented a pre-built system called GamingGrids.

This new system comes with a wide range of features built in such as game statistics on a player and team level, notifications which can help reduce delays when teams didn’t know they had a game and a chat messaging system which could spell the end of the reliance on IRC for communication between admins and players. Exactly what features Multiplay will make use of out of the wide selection isn’t clear yet but they have a lot to choose from to help streamline the whole tournament process.

With this move they have also released a new tournament site for all their online and offline events and team registration is open for all teams attending i56 so make sure you are all signed up and checked in before the event to help speed things along.
