Following the major wins at i55 and also winning Dreamhack London Qualifiers I had a chat with FearLess about his thoughts on iSeries and Dreamhack London.
Hello fearLess, thanks for taking the time for this interview, for those that don’t know you can you introduce yourself please?
Sure, I’m Luke ‘fearLess’ Morris, I’m the main awper for the UK team EZskins, been around the UK scene since the CS:S days
Alright how did you like the venue and lan its self as an overall event? Any thoughts on the moving to the NEC from Winter?
I’m glad they put the tent out for the extra people, otherwise quite a few UK teams (including us) wouldn’t have been able to go. Sanitation was a bit grim but it’s never been different. The venue itself I’ve never had a problem with, it’s nice and big and easy for me to get to. That goes for the NEC as well, very central. My thoughts are rather concerns that I hope the ticket prices don’t rocket up and that they keep the CS:GO tournaments going as the UK scene is really starting to pick up again, a very big turnout for this event, was nice to see.
This past weekend you just won i55, dropping only a single map in the elimination stage, can you talk us through that and how that felt and what preparations you took being the first time you guys played on lan especially against some of the best teams such as Choke and Infused?
Our preparations have been a constant since we formed, the moment we decided we were a team our goal was to aim higher than just the UK. It felt great taking what we’d practiced online and putting it in an actual LAN event, I mean it felt like the DreamHack qualifiers all over again as it was only the week before. But overall it’s only my 2nd I-Series win so for me it felt great 😀
With Dreamhack London around the corner how are you guys preparing to be playing on an international stage compared to playing against UK teams?
We’re going to keep improving our game rather than try and focus on how the international teams play, we have a lot to improve on and I think if we can nail all the little bits that we fail on, we can really do some damage. But then again we’re playing against the best in the world and literally anything can happen, it’s a first for me to be playing at that level but I’m more excited about showing the world what I can do as an awper and what we can do as a team.
Lastly any shoutouts that you’d like to make?
Yeah big shoutout to Connor and Henry at EZskins for giving us the opportunity to do what we do, we really appreciate it. Connor (Sliggy) was there for the whole weekend supporting us the whole way, he kept us all on the straight and narrow and sorted out any problems we had.
Also a huge shoutout to whoever handed my lanyard in to security at LAN, I left it in the toilets when changing for the final and without it I would have been screwed, faith in humanity restored!
