UKCSGO confirms that Endpoint duo Oscar “AZUWU” Bell and Jan “cej0t” Dyl will be joining SAW making their debut at ESL Pro League Season 21 Play-in.

After a fantastic 2024, SAW reached the highest echelons of Counter-Strike with their crowning glory being a deep semi-final run at IEM Cologne. It felt like the future for this Portuguese squad was bright. Unfortunately, at the end of the year, the roster went through turmoil.

First losing Rafael “arrozdoce” Wing they brought in youngster André “Ag1l” Gil from Rhyno. Alongside this, they also lost their coach Danny “BERRY” Krüger replacing him with Maikil “Golden” Selim.

Even though this roster move looked strange at first they still went on to win ESL Challenger Katowice in the lead-up to the Shanghai Major. The success however wasn’t sustained as they narrowly failed to make the Perfect World Shanghai Major going 2-3 in RMR A.

Heading into the new year they changed their roster once again, adding José “Shr” Gil for Michel “ewjerkz” Pinto. 2025 hasn’t been as lucrative for SAW as they have only won one game on LAN against FlyQuest and failed early in their attempt to qualify for BLAST Open Lisbon 2025.

Even though SAW added Shr at the start of the year, playing a total of nine games, he is already on his way out. The Portuguese organisation announced after PGL Cluj-Napoca they will be removing Shr and Ricardo “roman” Oliveira.

It is hard to continue on a regional project and we see a lot of teams move away to international teams. João “story Vieira additionally confirms this narrative in an interview with HLTV:

In Portugal, we don’t feel that anyone can solve our problems right now. I think if we sign some Portuguese guy, we are going to make a lot of mistakes, and I think we are not ready to do that again. So we are going to play with some international guys, it’s going to be our first time. We start to practice for Pro League straight after we go out of the tournament.

SAW will now move away from being a regional team for the first time in the organisation’s history. Can it work with the young ex-Endpoint duo?

Endpoint closed the doors on the Counter-Strike division 13 days ago and it hasn’t taken long for AZUWU or cej0t long to find their new home. Even though their time on Endpoint towards the end was underwhelming, both players will be making their debut at a tier one event.

AZUWU, for the first time, will embark on a journey outside of UK CS as he climbed the ranks regionally through 1PIN, later Coalesce, and more recently Endpoint. Touted as one of the best prospects from our scene he still has been performing on Endpoint despite their bad results with a 1.10 HLTV rating across his 19 months on the roster.

Even though Endpoint didn’t reach the heights they anticipated this did give AZUWU his first opportunity to grind through tier two CS and that itself gives immense experience. Now the question is, can he make the setup up and battle it out against the best in the world as AZUWU marks yet another UK player breaking their way into the top level of CS.

cej0t came into Endpoint as another rising talent after his stint in Sprout. This wasn’t necessarily reflected in the server as he averaged a 1.03 HLTV rating across his 10 months on the British organisation. Regardless, at 18 years old he still has shown immense potential and will look to flourish under new leadership.

This can be seen as a risky move bringing in two young players as SAW will need immediate results to keep getting invites to big events.

UKCSGO also confirms that AZUWU had a trial offer with Monte which would have linked him up with fellow countryman Jack “Gizmy” von Spreckelsen, but he had already signed with SAW.

SAW will reportedly head into ESL Pro League Season 21 Play-in as:

Christopher “MUTiRiS” Fernandes
João “story” Vieira
André “Ag1l” Gil
Oscar “AZUWU” Bell
Jan “cej0t” Dyl

Maikil “Golden” Selim (Coach)
