In an extraordinary piece of news today, UKCSGO can now report that Rory “Dephh” Jackson will be leaving CAZ eSports and joining up with the North American side compLexity.
This comes after earlier in this month, CAZ eSports had reported that their current roster would be kept on with a few changes bringing in CeX’s Kia “Surreal” Man. However it looks like that a mere two weeks after the official announcement, CAZ eSports will have to lose their greatest asset to a North American organisation. The North American shuffle which it is known to all in their scene has seen a number of high profile changes happening, with Kory “SEMPHIS” Friesen and some of the former compLexity members shifting to a new organisation which was revealed yesterday as being Team SoloMid. You can view all the supposed changes on this unofficial user Wikipedia entry on Team Liquid’s wiki.
The move was reported wildly on the website TopFrag as they interviewed North American star Josh “shinobi” Abastado, however it is yet to be reported on in an official capacity. This move to North America for Rory will be a massive one, and would most likely see him and the team competing in the Turner E-League which has $2.4million split over two seasons. Not only that but he will be team mates with arguably one of the greatest 1.6 AWPers ever in the form of Danny “fRoD” Montaner who has an incredible wealth of experience within the scene and will no doubt be able to nurture Rory into something more than just being good within the UK Scene.
There have also been widespread reports concluding that this deal would include a salary of around $4k per calendar month for Rory, which would equate to $48k per year before bonuses, prize money and streaming revenue garnered. This is an incredibly bold move for Rory, and a great step for UK players.
Where this leaves CAZ eSports is unknown currently, and we have tried to reach out to Team Captain Jake “jakem” McCausland for official comment on the matters, however no luck as of yet. We’d like to stress though, that these moves are as this moment unconfirmed, and it is only being reported by a select few websites. We are still seeking official confirmation from both compLexity & CAZ eSports.
Here is the apparent roster for compLexity:
Danny “roca” Gustaferri
