With Gfinity’s inaugural Elite Series season coming up this weekend, they’ve taken to announce an established cast of broadcast talent. From international stars to UK scene staples, there’s a lot of voices to be bringing this event to you.
With five of the eight teams being UK rosters, Gfinity’s headline talent is set to start a blood-bath. Duncan “Thorin” Shields is set to take the desk during the first season and most people can remember when he last presided over a UK team taking part in a tournament. However, he’ll most likely be in position to pass judgement on the European squads taking part (we hope).
Alongside him on the desk shall be former Team Endpoint player Ben “Esio” Doughty, who’s taken to desk work at multiple ESL Premiership finals. Recently team-less, he’s been focusing his time on creating strat-breakdowns on his YouTube channel. Adding to the UK scene knowledge shall be a former teammate of Ben’s, Alex “Snodz” Byfield, setting up for a cast alongside Jack “Jacky” Peters, who appear to have created the UK’s latest casting duo. Returning to the esports action after a short break is Karam “KYAN1TE” Kabbara, who’ll be assisting the desk over the first week. Taking part in his first UK-only event is Tom “Tombizz” Bissmire, more known for running the EU tier 2/3 circuit and on StarLadder. Another Gfinity and UK-scene stalwart James “BanKs” Banks also comes in as a commentator to add even more experience to the show. Sonny “Herold” Neal also joins the team.
This doesn’t appear to be the end of Gfinity’s broadcast talent announcements, leaving a little “For now…” at the end of their article. Whether or not that just adds space for drop-outs or incoming stars, who knows.
The full Gfinity talent line-up shall be:
Duncan “Thorin” Shields
Jack “Jacky” Peters
Alex “Snodz” Byfield
Ben “Esio” Doughty
James “BanKs” Banks
Tom “Tombizz” Bissmire
Sonny “Herold” Neal
Karam “KYAN1TE” Kabbara
Tickets for all ten weeks of action are available to buy here, where some early bird tickets are still up for grabs at £5(/week). Regular ticket prices are £15/week.
In continuing scene developments, Team Endpoint have tonight announced that they have massively overhauled their roster going forward this year. It seems to be that the longest standing core team has fallen apart and certain players have either moved out of the spotlight and got real life commitments or decided enough was enough.
In an announcement on their website, Team Endpoint have released information about the future of their roster, including two changes.
