UK Premiership – Choke round up team list

After 9 weeks of constant action packed weeks from the ESL UK Premiership, we now know who the fourth team is to qualify for the Finals at MCM London.

That team of course was Choke Gaming, who beat fish123 over three maps in the decider play-off match on Monday evening. After the group stage couldn’t separate the two teams on points, ESL UK made the decision that in the fairest way (considering it was for a spot at the finals) that a play-off match was to be played between fish123 & Choke Gaming, after fish123 had beaten Choke in the final match of the normal group stage. Fresh from epic.SIXTEEN over the weekend, where they finished in third place (rather disappointing for them), Choke & fish pitted themselves against each on Monday night. The veto had been done, and with that, they squared up on de_inferno, de_train & de_dust2.

On the first map, de_inferno, Choke Gaming raced to a 14:1 half time scoreline, after absolutely demolishing any hopes fish had of taking a map lead. In the second half, fish collected three more rounds before finally losing 16:4 to Choke. The second map was of better quality, with fish actually managing to put up a respectable fight and even staying one step ahead of Choke for the duration of the map. Whether Choke are well versed on de_train is another subject up for debate, but fish123 closed up the map 16:10 to level the series.

The final map came around, which was de_dust2, and Choke started CT side. fish123 raced into an 8:1 lead, but Choke decided they would halt the train, and manage to fightback to bring the half back to a respectable 9:6 in fish’s favour. The second half was a lot more even, with neither side managing to edge ahead too far, but after a double eco at 11:10 to fish, Choke managed to garner some momentum and took 6 of the next 7 rounds to see off the challenge from fish.

This now means that Choke Gaming join Team XENEX, Team Infused & United Estonia at MCM London in a couple of weeks time. UKCSGO.com is understood that Counter Strike will be played over two days at MCM London (Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th).
