The final UKCSGO Top 10 of 2015 is now live, and of course, is probably the single biggest ranking we’ve done to date. Not without all the drama, there was plenty of that, but because we saw the biggest post LAN Shuffle to date.
In December, we saw insomnia56 which was the final LAN of 2015 take place at the NEC in Birmingham, and we saw a lot of bold moves, big surprises, and incredible scenes take place in Birmingham. This should of course give you plenty of context to this months rankings, as most of our pundits will have taken the insomnia56 final standings as the Bible.
As per normal, all of our pundits put down their scores, 10 points awarded for the best team they feel and only 1 point for the lowest team they have. This month we see just 6 people on the panel, meaning that the first placed team can obtain 60pts if all 6 pundits manage to gift the same team the top spot.

Tom “Gumpster” Gumbleton, one of UKCSGO’s pundits had this to say:
With all said and done, it was an incredible month for all of the UK’s local underdog stories to come to fruition. Not only did we see uFrag see of Team ROCCAT in the group stages, we saw them completely run riot in the Elimination Brackets. From what I heard, apparently Adam “adamxoxo” Rotherham gave up calling and said “gg, we’ve lost” when they lost a round to Team Infused being 14 – 4 up at one point. We also saw Monumentalis make an incredible run in the brackets too. Of course the biggest underdog story came from CeX who had been previously “dipping their toes” in the water with some good efforts at insomnia55 (under Reason Gaming) and of course who could forget their second placed finish at epic.SIXTEEN in October (again under Reason Gaming). This was the biggest jewel in their crown having to do it the hard way and completing the task in hand with some incredible Counter-Strike to really give us some absolute proof that they are the best team in December.
The story of CeX winning really started the wheels turning in the UK Scene, as we saw the biggest collapse of all UK teams, and the sheer amount of roster changes was unheard of throughout the previous year. If anything, it was a massive wake-up call for all players within the scene and that has meant that the hard work now again starts. With the next UK LAN being in February we are unlikely to see much change between now and then which will give teams a good healthy amount of time to bed down strategies and the changes as a whole.
We need more positivity this year, not negativity and that is what I am offering up from now on. Let’s hope for a better 2016.
Our guest pundit for this month also offered this statement to UKCSGO:
I chose my top 10 based primarily on insomnia56 results, however with the recent break downs in the scene, I have had constant problems properly ranking all the appropriate teams this month. CeX were incredibly strong and took massive advantage of the altered patch that happened two or three days prior to LAN, but it gave the scene a massive boot up the backside and meant that everyone has to start again and work harder going forward.
uFrag were my pick of the month though as they played incredibly well and showed everyone that with some hard work and luck, you can break through the scene, and they deserve their ranking at Number 4 this month.
That wraps up December’s Top 10, we hope you enjoy these articles as much as we do. Make sure you stay tuned to UKCSGO.com for further updates relating to the UK CS:GO Scene.
