UKCSGO January Top 10

by Archive

The January top 10 was a tricky one as once again we were faced with a month with no big UK events, but some teams took that lull as a chance to break into some EU tournaments and wave the UK flag high. There was also an abundance of GameFace tournaments which has seen a new face sneak its way into this month’s top 10. There has also been quite a shuffle in the top 5 teams, with just a one point difference separating first and second place.

The panel was expanded by one member this month, with two guest panellists as opposed to the usual one, to give a broader spectrum of votes.

The UKCSGO January Top 10 are:

10 Rasta403 (Ryfoolz, SHAKKKKKKKKKK#., SH4NEEE, remixx, Ally) 6
9 Enraged eSports (unDa, Fletchhy, JaSeY B, nath, Rybak) 12
8 ALL4 (EB, maxyB, fearLess, Chron1c, Berty) 22
7 Infused (redSNK, REAZN, SPUDz, Boaster, Peggyyyyy) 27
6 uFrag (adamxoxo, Powell, HypeIzBack, Yoshi, ash) 33
5 CeX (kARMApangYa, Cinder, Charley, Fisher, resu) 44
4 CAZ eSports (jakem, r0m, Surreal, Jstar, Jesp) 50
3 BEASTS (neilziniho, Whindanski, mole, ZED, s0m) 54
2 fm-eSports (Immi, Esio, Puls3, MiGHTYMAX, CRUC1AL) 65
1 NerdRage (Sheekey, Lumji, shaney, aqua, dream) 66

Michael “Duck” Moriarty:

The UK has undergone one of its customary post-LAN shifts, and the only team to really escape unscathed was the NerdRage team, led by veteran Sheekey, who have managed to make great strides in Europe during the qualifiers for the EU Minor and Operation: Kinguin #2. Alongside them is the other side easily at the top of the UK Scene, and only missing out through a hair’s width is fm-eSports. This side has gone through many changes since i56, replacing Joeee and Powell with Puls3 and CRUC1AL. This new side also made strides through the EU Minor qualifiers as well as qualifying for the Operation: Kinguin #2 tournament. As well as this, they are leading both CEVO-M and ESEA Main (at the end of January) which lead heavily into their rank.

Below that, we have the new BEASTS side, who show promise and have some good results but haven’t made that much of a stretch as of yet to make a proper challenge at the top. CAZ  heading just below are gaining close results in ESEA Premier but lack wins and CeX are also doing well in ESEA Main. uFrag winning a fair amount of GAMEFACE tournaments place themselves in the middle of the pack.

And now over to our guest this month – A player who has chosen to remain anonymous

Due to all of the roster changes, I’m only able to base my predictions off them and the few officials that have been played. I think you’ll see CeX, Infused and CAZ all fall behind; especially with the departures of Deph and Kryptix. With those departures, it will be interesting to see how CAZ do in Starladder as they did qualify for it recently. I expect FM, nerdRage and BEASTS to round out the top 3 of the UK scene. At the moment, it’s safe to say based on their performances in qualifiers, that FM & nerdRage are pushing the top 2 spots with them both qualifying for the Operation Kinguin tournament. As well as qualifying for that, FM have qualified for Season 4 of the Uprise Champions Cup.
