Season 5 of UKIC Division 1 is coming to a close soon as the tumultuous ALASKA roster faces off against an in-form 8Sins. Three-fifths of the ALASKA roster set to compete in the finals have announced that they are looking for a team on X whilst 8Sins’ quintet stands strong.
The final of this season of Division 1 is set to be a rematch of the EPIC.LAN 44 Grand Finals. This was a gripping three-map affair going the way of the most accomplished domestic team of recent times: ALASKA. But with 8Sins maintaining stability with their roster and ALASKA being anything but stable, can 8Sins finally trump their domestic rivals to close out the first season of the year?
Additionally, the upcoming season of UKIC will feature open qualifiers for both Divisions 1 and 2. UKCSGO can confirm that Reason Gaming will not be holding onto their UKIC Division 1 spot, and as such, that spot will be up for grabs in the open qualifier. Division 2, however, will have two spots up for grabs. The qualifiers will take place over the course of Friday the 18th to Saturday the 19th. Starting at 6 pm British Summer Time, the format will be a double-elimination bracket.
As of writing, the upcoming UKIC qualifier currently has top UK CS teams such as CTRL ALT DEFEAT and flowstate signed up. There is also a new team under the banner Questionmark, comprising of Owen “smooya” Butterfield, James “bevve” Slinn and Marco “MMS” Salomone currently set to play.
