UKIC Division 2 and 3 delayed by one week

The Open competition and Division 2 will begin on Tuesday 31st October.

The UKIC recently revamped their circuit, introducing three divisions of league play alongside their University divisions in an attempt to bring the two separated scenes together. Two of the divisions, Division 2 and 3, were set to start tomorrow but instead have been pushed back a week in order to avoid clashes with EPIC.LAN. Despite this move, Division 1 will go ahead as planned with the official schedule being released tomorrow in a UKCSGO article.

The new start date for the Division 2 and Division 3 (Open Division) is Tuesday 31st October.

UKCSGO reached out to Head Admin FFACT for a quote on why the delay was enacted

After the Open Qualifiers some teams gave up their Division 2 spot as their goal was Division 1. When speaking to teams to fill those spots we realised a lot of teams had players attending EPIC.LAN this coming weekend so we felt it made the most sense to push the start of the season back one week. Pushing our Open Division (Division 3) back a week to be in line with Division 2 means allowing extra time for more teams to sign-up and for me to do some scouting at EPICLAN on Friday [laughs].
