After the recent scandals over the nature of the release of their previous CSGO team, sources close to the organisation state that VATIC will announce that Matt Litherland is to be handing over his 50% ownership of the team to Anthony “Neggies” English. English, current Community Manager of VATIC, has no current experience in running an eSports organisation.
The current ownership structure of the organisation is split 50/50 between Mark “Crossy” Cross and Matt Litherland. This move would see Litherland relinquish his ownership of the organisation and transfer it to English. This would send Matt into a back-room role, avoiding the limelight and ending his day-to-day running of the organisation.
However, the publicised ownership of VATIC is just a academical exercise. The organisation is not a registered company. If Litherland is to truly take a backwards step from the organisation, he will most likely retain full control over finances and sponsorship agreements. According to our source, Litherland will remain to organise sponsors for the organisation and outside of that, he will have no control.
If the reputation of the organisation is to helped to be salvage, a more community focused set-up would be the next focus for a VATIC under Neggies. English has had a fast rise up the UK eSports food chain, from starting out helping out JGL mixes to becoming known for selling (and giving away) CS:GO pins through Facebook groups and now ending up running an eSports team, it’s set to be an interesting challenge for the young man. The first port of call for him will be to announce their next CSGO team and to stabilise their steadily sliding reputation.
Either way, we sit in wait for what the future of the organisation is to hold and to see how unscathed they can emerge from their recent scandal. The sky’s the limit in this revolution.
