Team 7AM have announced today that their EU based CS:GO roster is set to be released. The team, which had joined the organisation at the end of August last year, had been made up of a UK core since their formation.
The team made waves in September of last year, when they were flung all the way to the USA for their first event at Fragadelphia 17. There they performed reasonably well, narrowly missing out on qualification to the main stage after a loss to fellow UK team BLVKHVND before taking home second place in the event’s secondary tournament.
Their most recent LAN adventure was closer to home, at EPIC.39, where they finished second behind The Neighbours after an exciting 2-1 final in Wolverhampton. They currently compete in ESEA Advanced, having achieved an immediate promotion from Main last season. They finished 5-8th in the most recent UKIC Invitational, being the only team to take a map off eventual winners JACK3D. Despite appearing in both previous ESL Premiership seasons under the organisation, the team were unable to qualify for the upcoming Insomnia finals. They finished their two Closed Qualifiers and Open Qualifier runs in third, fourth and 5-6th respectively.

7AM as an organisation has offered a reasonably high amount of support to their team, with team founder John “WundA” Smith-Howell revealing in an interview with UKCSGO.com that they had “spent the best part [of] 15 grand” before the team had played a match, ahead of their announcement and travelling to the USA.
In response to questions from UKCSGO.com, WundA declined to expand further on the release of the team, stating “A number of factors are used to make a decision like this and none are taken lightly. Unfortunately, I would not like to comment further on the reasons why.” On questioning around if the organisation would look to stay around the UK scene, he offered the following:
We entered the UK CSGO scene this time last year, we have spent a considerable amount of money and shown the scene how we believe an organisation should operate and support their players. We’ve no intention of leaving the UK CSGO scene.
Due to their release, it appears that the team may indeed go their separate ways as well. A number of the players and staff members have sent out posts on X, formerly Twitter, after the announcement on the organisation’s account, stating that they are LFT. Those who have explicitly stated this so far, as of writing, include Zy “yz0” Esponilla (below), team coach Luke “EMPEROR” Ingram and Leo “Silence” Ingvarsson.
