The astute of you among us will have noticed that we have changed the look of the site. The drive for this being we wanted to simplify the site’s appearance and move away from the dark and dingy colour scheme. This new, brighter and more responsive layout allows us to display more key information at any one time, with the ability to quickly move between content when an article catches your eye.
We’re still developing, and want to get things right so that our readers want to come back and share our content. We’ve included new ways to interact with a piece of media, including the ability to give your reaction to a piece, as well as the good old commenting system. This new design allows us to show case the items we want to get more attention, whilst not removing the direct access to the latest headlines and up to date coverage pieces.
With the new site, we have done away with one or two things, some of which may be coming back. For the time being, the forums have been disabled. These had largely become an ad-board for those looking for a team or players. We like the idea of connecting players with teams and vice versa, so in the coming weeks we will be looking to implement a dedicated recruitment system in to the website, that will standardise the way players can search for teams through our website.
The match ticker is also gone. The system we had been using was awkward, poorly built (not by us!) and a pain to add games to, particularly when teams were often mixes under a variety of colourful titles. Instead, we’re creating our very own match ticker to go in its place, where we will (hopefully) be able to include a full database of players and the teams that they belong to. This should allow us to keep a steady archive of the games that go on, meaning it’ll be even easier to make those all important top ten ranking decisions.
Last but not least, we know our content has not been as frequent or as high quality as when we first started out. Hopefully, with the new site and increased motivation, this will change and the site will be given a new lease of life.
We thank you for supporting us, and hope you enjoy the new look as much as we do.
