There is a famous British phrase that goes “it’s the hope that kills you.” It’s saying that if you don’t believe in something then you will never hurt when it doesn’t happen. Well at the BLAST.tv Europe A RMR it felt good to hope and that hope paid off. Into the Breach are Legends at the last ever CS:GO Major.
Let that sink in.
Shaking, lost for words, and exhausted after the best-of-three UKCSGO’s interviewer Dafydd Gwynn used his final remaining energy to sit down with Cai “CYPHER” Watson to get his feelings on qualifying for the Major.
You’ve just made the Major… thoughts?
my throat is gone, my heads frazzled, I don’t know what the fuck is going on. Holy shit man. I am in disbelief, I am legitimately shocked and I’m so happy, I’m over the moon.
You could be making Legends if BNE win this game, any thoughts on that?
I think it’s the one time I am going to be rooting for FaZe to lose. If we do that it’s insane beyond belief, it’s everything I could have wished for coming in to this event.
The fact that this is the last ever CS:GO Major, does that add anything for you?
Honestly, I don’t think it matters that it’s the last ever Major, it’s just the fact it’s a Major. I’m going to get my stickers in the game, everything, it’s incredible. That’s all that matters to me.
What was the first thought that went through your head when you won?
Honestly nothing. I was just screaming, actually just screaming. There is no thoughts, it is just unbelieve. I am still in shock, my throat- I don’t even know. It’s insane, it’s completely insane.
Is there anybody you want to thank or say anything too?
The whole team to be honest with you, the whole team. Katie [CYPHER’s girlfriend] for supporting me. Everyone. Everyone who has helped me along the journey and my team now who is unbelievable. Every single one has had unbelievable rounds in this tournament and Into the Breach of course.
Do you have anything to say to the UK scene?
Honestly thank you, it is unbelievable to see everyone support us. It’s just come out of nowehere. It shows that the UK scene does have individuals that are good, people just need to put in the work and change their attitude.
My final question is how are you partying tonight, how will you celebrate?
I’m going to bed. I am knackered. My throat is gone, I can’t talk anymore otherwise I’m not even going to be able to talk for the Major.
Any final comments?
I said it was coming home, it came home.
