In recent years streaming video games has transitioned from being a spare time hobby, to a viable way to fund a comfortable lifestyle for those lucky enough to have a partnered stream and a sustainable following. Such income comes through subscription based models, donations, ad revenue and other such means. However, on some platforms, many of such perks are only available for those streams lucky enough to have a partnership deal with the hosts.
However, our UKCSGO County Championships partner hitbox.tv have today announced that they will be expanding their partnership program for all broadcasters that are streaming through their platform. What this means for streamers is that they are now able to have advertisements ran during their stream and in turn get paid for doing so. This will also include subscribing to channels and the ability to have subscriber only emotes from the channels that they are subscribing to.
Martin Klimscha, the co-founder and CEO of hitbox said the following:
There is so much varied and exciting content streamed live on Hitbox every day. For those broadcasters who are growing a smaller audience or choose unique, lesser known titles over the eSports giants, we wanted our platform to be just as fair and rewarding.
Hitbox is one of the sponsors for the UKCSGO County Championship, now in its second stage, where we are streaming games that are being played. Games can be viewed here and the hub for the County Championship can be found here.
