Insomnia62 CS:GO tournament announced

by Archive

GAME, and specifically the UK Masters, have announced the tournament offering for the upcoming Insomnia62 event. In this offering, includes a £7,500 CS:GO tournament for the event at the NEC, Birmingham between 30th March – 2nd April.

With no further information surrounding the tournament announced yet, bar the prize pool continuing in it’s barely shifted state of affairs and the date, more on how Jon “ViciousHorizon” Kelly’s strangely wired mind will orchestrate this event will probably be coming soon.

Sign-ups for the CS:GO Event can be found on Battlefy here.

The current tournament lineup for Insomnia62 is as follows:

  • Bidstack Football Management World Esport Championship – £25,000
  • UK Masters Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Open – £7,500
  • UK Masters League of Legends Open – £5,000
  • UK Masters Rocket League Open – £3,000
  • UK Masters Hearthstone Open – £1,000

Esports at Insomnia is always a fun issue, but this should no longer be an issue as the entire offering will now be brought under the UK Masters brand and organisation. They’re set to bring it all under their own operation, including operating the tournament out of the UK Masters discord server and broadcasting from UK Masters Twitch channels. They’ll also be announcing “more changes to the esports at Insomnia”, which would hopefully indicate a raise in prize pools. Maybe. The website also included a page for the Summer Season of the UK Masters, which just featured a countdown to 10:30pm on March 30th.

The announcement from Esports Manager of GAME and Project Manager of the UK Masters Charlie Tizard finished with:

With Insomnia63 we expect to bring real and ongoing positive changes to the experience of esports competitors at Insomnia. This will begin with how we support the UK & European Counter-Strike: Global Offensive scenes, the full extent of our plans will be revealed in the wake of Insomnia62.

We are looking ahead to an extremely exciting year of UK esports, and I can speak for the whole team when I say we cannot wait to start sharing with you what we’ve got planned for Insomnia63 and onwards!
