A few months ago the first UK Ascending, a tournament open to UK teams outside of the UKCSGO top ten, kicked off it’s first tournament in an attempt to try and boost the UK’s amateur CS:GO scene. The eventual victors, uFrag, have since progressed to become one of the UK’s most up and coming sides, with a whole host of top event finishes on their list of achievements.
Three months later, the second iteration of the UK Ascending series has been announced, and will play host to a group of 12 teams from the UK. The only limitations that apply are that you must be from the UK, and you must not be listed in the top 5 of the UKCSGO top ten. Three of the slots have been handed out directly to previous tournament participants uFrag, MnM and Impulse White, with a further 5 invites to be dealt out in the coming weeks.
The remaining four slots will be open for teams through a sixteen team qualifier, that will be held in 2 weeks time on the 26th of April.
A representative of the tournament organiser UPL gave the following information on reddit earlier today:
We will be hosting a 16 team qualifier for the main event, teams wishing to take part should contact myself (wAVE) on steam or send an e-mail to [email protected]
In the qualifiers servers will be provided and the games should conclude in one night. We’ll have 4 spots in the main bracket up for grabs.
Teams taking part in the qualifier will be required to have at least 3 players be UK/IE residents.The main tournament will feature 12 teams and take place on Sunday 1st and 8th May.
