UK Masters Summer Season announced

by Archive

The UK Masters Summer Season has just been announced. Returning for its fourth instalment, the UK Masters is back again with another £15k prize pool for both Counter-Strike:Global Offensive, and League of Legends.

The qualifiers are set to start on Monday, May 15th, and this time they will be held on FACEIT, instead of Battlefy. This change in platform will hopefully speed up the qualifiers as it will add full automation to the matches and brackets.

UK Masters Summer Season Announcement

At Insomnia60, we announced the Summer ‘17 Season of the UK Masters. Today, we’re excited to share more details about how this season is shaping up.

With a brand new look for the Summer and the return of League of Legends to the lineup, we’re extremely excited about what this season will bring. Both League of Legends and Counter Strike: Global Offensive will feature a £15,000 prize pool for teams to vy for, with a new prize structure to reward teams across all positions in the league.

The format of the tournament remains, with qualifiers leading into a league stage, followed by playoffs and the Grand Finals, live from Insomnia61! 8 League of Legends teams will form the league, following 4 open qualifiers. Counter-Strike will give teams the chance to qualify and join the invited teams in the summer season of UK Masters. This season we will be welcoming players from Ireland to compete in the tournament, giving even more teams and players the chance to participate!

Registration for all of our Summer ‘17 Qualifiers are open now and you can sign up for Counter-Strike here and League of Legends here.

The league stage of the tournament will once again be broadcast from our studio in the Multiplay head office in Basingstoke, providing you with all the live coverage from the games this season, broadcast Monday to Thursday from 7pm to 11pm each night over on the UK Masters Twitch Channel.

Want to join the UK Masters broadcast team? We’re looking for social media volunteers to bring high quality coverage of the season to the world! If you’re keen to expand your social media expertise and are a huge fan of League or CSGO then we want you! Fill out this quick form and we’ll be in touch!

We’re really excited about the Summer ‘17 Season and the return of League of Legends to the UK Masters. Qualifiers begin on May 15th and we’ll see you there!

Be sure to follow the UK Masters on Twitter, Facebook and Youtube.

According to UK Masters, FM eSports and fish123 will be invited to the league stage of UK Masters Summer Season so long as their core five players are the same. This shouldn’t be an issue for a long-standing team like FM eSports, but for fish123 it could be a very different story.
