Many believed they wouldn’t make the RMR, and they did. Many believed they wouldn’t make the Major, and they did. Many believed they wouldn’t get a single win, and they did. Many believed they wouldn’t make it to the playoffs, look at them now.
Into the Breach have made history once again to become the first UK team to make the playoffs at a Major and after the monumental win over Fnatic, UKCSGO spoke to Cai “CYPHER” Watson. The 20-year-old didn’t have many words left, but he had just enough to thank those who had supported him the whole way through his career.
Congratulations. You just made playoffs. Talk me through that game.
I don’t even know what to say to be honest. Inferno, we trolled like we should have won Inferno realistically, we trolled, but the mental was so strong. We have insane mental resilience to come back on Overpass. You knew our CT side was really good, really, really good. All we need was three rounds and we pulled it off, so I’m just over the fucking moon. It’s just crazy. My throat’s gone. I’m fucking dying, everything. I can’t believe it.
You qualified over the organization that won the first major. Does that add anything special?
I don’t even care about the rest. I just want to fucking win the whole event now, get me to the stage.
What a win, it’s hard to say much else, right?
Yeah (laughs).
Anyone you want to thank at home or anything you want to say?
I want to thank Katie [CYPHER’s girlfriend] for coming to every event I go to. My dad, my mum, everyone. It’s just the support my whole family’s given is crazy. I want to thank the UK scene as well.
