After Endpoint decided to revamp their roster during the off-season with the addition of young-gun Henrich “sl3nd“ Hevesi on the AWP and Oscar “AZUWU“ Bell, they have finalised their roster with Canadian coach Felix “Frøg“ Bergeron.
Frøg previously served as an assistant coach and analyst in The Prodigies, and most recently found success in South Africa with Bravado. Within his five-month stint, they conquered the domestic scene and also managed to qualify to ESL Challenger Katowice just before the player break. Frøg as a coach is still relatively new in the Counter-Strike world, but has made his impact in a big way. Renowned for his knowledge of everything CS, and seemingly limitless memory of young players, he seems to be a perfect fit for Endpoint.
Endpoint, who had previously held the ESL Premiership title for eight consecutive seasons, were vanquished this time around by Into The Breach. Now with this newly formed roster that has a UK core, Endpoint will be aiming to take back their title and regain their dominance regionally, but also internationally, starting to work towards a point where they can contest making it to the first CS2 Major.
UKCSGO reached out to Peter Thompson, Endpoint’s CEO, for a comment on why they chose Frøg, and what their aspirations are as a team:
Felix’s [Frøg] knowledge of the tier two/three scene and general knowledge of CS meta seemed unmatched for us, he watches a lot of CS! With the launch of CS2 around the corner we have a great mix of experienced players who understand how to learn new maps (or games in this case) and three younger talents aged 18-20 to really hit the ground running with incredible raw skill.
For us, Felix was the perfect person, young and hungry to put the work in, find the new metas in CS2, and work closely with our team for the next 6-8 months in the run-up to the major, with no pressure on immediate results. He’s done a fantastic job at Bravado and we feel he can bring that energy and knowledge to Endpoint. Overall his mannerisms in general seemed a great match with Endpoint, while also being UK-based.
Endpoint comes out of the player break with the following lineup:
Max “MiGHTYMAX“ Heath
Kia “Surreal“ Man
Nikita “HeavyGod“ Martynenko
Oscar “AZUWU“ Bell
Henrich “sl3nd“ Hevesi
Felix “Frøg“ Bergeron (coach)
