ESL Premiership Spring 2023 Viewers Guide

Everything you need to know about the UK's premier CS:GO event.

by Dafydd

The newest season of ESL Premiership is set to get underway today at 17:45 BST with Coalesce versus GEEKZ and Arctic Raptors versus Heaven & Hell kicking off proceedings. ESL Premiership Spring 2023 has the potential to be one of the most competitive ESL UK events in the last ten seasons.

Endpoint are currently ten time champions and, with Owen “smooya” Butterfield and Rory “cryths” Ursell as their stand-ins, they are looking dangerous. Into the Breach, however, will be the favourites as they recently qualified for the Legends stage of the BLAST.tv Paris Major. The two UK titans are not the only competitors that should be taken seriously, as Coalesce and Viperio both have the potential to cause an upset, and find themselves in the final. This combined with the fact that there are only two “mixed” teams makes this an historic Premiership event.

Format

The group stage of the tournament will run from the 1st of May to the 25th before the playoff bracket gets underway. The games will be played in a single round robin format whereby all teams play each other in best-of-ones. After the group stages conclude the #1 teams go into the Semi-finals whilst the #2 and #3 teams are seeded into the Quarter-finals.

The playoffs will be single elimination best-of-threes up until the Grand Final, which will be a best-of-five.
