Flames Shieldmaidens bring in UK help

Shieldmaidens complete their new international roster with the addition of UKCS player Aim.

An accolade organisation within Denmark, Copenhagen Flames, who have featured at many CS:GO Majors, are looking to venture even furtherĀ in the women’s sphere. Previously, this roster has found lots of success within the ESL Impact Cash Cups, winning three out of the six that were hosted in its inaugural year, as well as qualifying for the GIRLGAMER Esports Festival 2022: Ceuta. However, this is all overshadowed by the fact that the Shieldmaidens couldn’t qualify for either of the ESL Impact European Leagues, eliminating the chance of attending the ESL Impact LAN Finals.

Thus with this new roster built around the Danish duo Anna “RamziiN” Ramsing, and Josefine “Josefine” Jensen will still be sticking with a Danish Core by picking up Nicoline “Zygimage“Hansen, but shall now be requesting the help of UK talent Mia “aiM” Cooper, formerly proudly representing Sigma Mindset and Birmingham Massive.

aiM, as recognised in the Copenhagen Flames press release, doesn’t have the most experience playing in an team environment, but they are confident she will develop fast and will bring a lot to the table in regards to firepower. This sentiment was mimicked by their Head of Esports, Philip KarsbĆøl.

Talent discovery and fostering playersā€™s development has always been a trademark of Copenhagen Flames.

The UK CS scene hasn’t in any recent history seen a female player even venture near to high level competitive Counter-Strike, and now aiM will be waving the UK flag in hopes for others to follow in pursuit.

The new women’s leagues and initiatives created by ESL are in place to incorporate women CS:GO players into our industry, to give women a place to unapologetically enjoy what they love the most. Throughout their first year of the new league and cash cups, we never saw a UK team or player represent our scene. Now with the incorporation of aiM, their newest rifler into this budding roster, it gives UK players more reasons to tune into ESL Impact games and pay attention to something they previously might not have, hopefully UK women players can emulate this success and use aiM as a role model they can look up to.

As previously mentioned, this Copenhagen Shieldmaidens squad had never qualified for the ESL Impact European League, and with the leagues starting in early March, this new Danish core will look to use upcoming ESL Impact Cash Cups to test the squad and get them official ready. Alongside this, the team will be flexing their muscles in ESEA Open, with their first official on Wednesday, 18th January against Permitta Esports Hungary on the newest map added to the map pool, Anubis.

Copenhagen Shieldmaidens roster now consists of:

Anna “RamziiN” Ramsing
Josefine “Josefine” Jensen
Mia “aiM” Cooper
Nicoline “Zygimage“Hansen
Yousera “Emerald” Bernardone
