The Grosvenor Casinos / epicLAN championship is well under way for a second season following London Esports’ victory in the inaugural season. The tournament features the best teams in the UK fighting for their share of the £10,000 prize pool.
The tournament format includes five LAN events at Grosvenor Casinos across the country, two online qualifiers and a LAN grand finals. The winner of each of the seven qualifiers and a wildcard team will compete at the grand finals for a £3,000 grand prize. So far, one online qualifier and four offline qualifiers have been played.
Reading
The first of the 5 LAN qualifiers took place in Reading. The winner of this qualifier was Fierce Esports consisting of Astroo, dOMM, Ec1s, Frei and Stanley.
Reading final standings:
1st – Fierce Esports – £700 + Qualified for LAN finals
2nd – WATDOINK
3rd-4th – Favela Gaming
3rd-4th – No strats; shit stats
Newcastle
The second qualifier took place in Newcastle and was won by CeX with the roster of Resu, mrhui, LiamS, Whisk and DaNsky.
Newcastle final standings:
1st – CeX – £700 + Qualified for LAN finals
2nd – Bowlcut Bandits – £200
3rd – SuckMyGlock
4th – Viperio Team Durham
Manchester
Next up was Manchester which saw London Esports take the victory. This roster was Kray, Adam9130, Frazehh, L1nk and Mezii.
Manchester final standings:
1st – London Esports – £700 + Qualified for LAN finals
2nd – Pishwari’s Takeaway – £200
3rd – Arctic Foxes
4th – Novichockolate
Nottingham
The fourth qualifier occurred in Nottingham where Team Endpoint became the fourth team to qualify for the finals. This roster was MiGHTYMAX, Puls3, Thomas, cnxx and Whitey.
Nottingham final standings:
1st – Team Endpoint – £700 + Qualified for LAN finals
2nd – London Lynx – £200
3rd-4th – IGI

Online Qualifier 1
The most recent qualifier to take place was the first of two online qualifiers. The winner of this qualifier was Revelation Gaming with the roster of Hype, Hawk, Russ, Jsav and Xyph.

This weekend, we will see our last offline qualifier in Cardiff. Following that will be the second online qualifier, on April 16th & 17th, to find the seventh team to qualify for the finals. The seven teams will then be joined by a wildcard team to battle it out at the LAN finals in Coventry to be crowned champions of the epicLAN Grosvenor Casinos Championship Season 2!
